Environmental Justice
NaTisha has long championed environmental justice, striving to ensure that every resident has access to a clean, healthy, and safe environment. She advocates for clean air and water, the maintenance of vacant lots, and pathways into the growing green economy. Collaborating with local environmental organizations such as the Upstream, Tree Pittsburgh, Landforce, and many more NaTisha works to create safe and accessible spaces for residents of all ages. As a 10-year + EJ advocate and expert, she will utilize her skills to find resolution of our environmental issues.
She hopes to bring more resources to Wilkinsburg to improve the infrastructure and beautification of our borough.

Public Health & Affordable Resources
Throughout her career, NaTisha has been a steadfast advocate for public health, focusing on the environmental hazards that disproportionately impact underserved communities. She works to address the health risks caused by industrial emissions, water contamination, food apartheid, and many other factors that contribute to chronic illnesses like asthma, heart disease, and cancer. From advocating for stronger regulations to ensuring residents have access to vital health resources, NaTisha is committed to protecting community well-being. She supports local initiatives like the annual Wilkinsburg Health Fair, which connects residents with essential health screenings and information on environmental health risks. As well as working with local health professionals to reach more residents with affordable healthcare resources

Quality Education
Inspired by her mother's 30+ year role on the Wilkinsburg School Board and her father's advocacy as a youth probation officer, NaTisha has always been a strong advocate for youth of all ages. She began her journey in high school as a Junior Council member, amplifying the voices of youth in her community. Her passion for youth advocacy deepened through her role as an out-of-school educator with the Junior Green Corps in Homewood. Her work withe the JGC not only helped youth prepare for future careers but gave them an incentivized opportunity to help their community. As a board member of Communitopia NaTisha continues her work to empower young people to make their voices heard and showcase their impact. NaTisha supports policies aimed at improving public education for students throughout the county and state.

Community Safety
NaTisha is committed to fostering safe, thriving communities where residents feel secure both inside their homes and throughout their neighborhoods. She advocates for community-led solutions that repair relationships with law enforcement while empowering residents with the resources they need to create a safer environment. Beyond addressing crime, NaTisha is dedicated to revitalizing blighted lots, improving abandoned infrastructure, and expanding access to well-maintained community spaces. She supports efforts to install LED street lighting for better visibility, enhance public safety, and creating safe, accessible green spaces for youth and families. NaTisha believes that every resident regardless of age deserves safe, welcoming places to gather, play, and build a stronger community.

Equitable Investment and Economic Growth
Recognizing the impact of disinvestment from a young age, NaTisha strives to revitalize communities through equitable investments and shared resources, with a strong focus on minority and women-owned businesses. As a Black woman business owner, she is committed to diversifying opportunities and ensuring local enterprises have the support they need to succeed.
With extensive experience in grant writing, NaTisha has successfully secured funding from foundations and federal grantors, helping to bring critical resources into the communities she serves. She actively supports local businesses and nonprofits by offering consulting, connecting them to funding opportunities, and volunteering her time to strengthen their impact. Collaborating with groups like the Center for Shared Prosperity, Equitable and Just Greater Pittsburgh Network, and the Black Equity Coalition, NaTisha works to shift the narrative and create an environment where all businesses, nonprofits, community groups, and future leaders can thrive with the right resources, education, and opportunities.
